Born and raised in Southern California, Eric was introduced to image editing in 1989. After graduating from the Digital Prepress Institute in 1993, he spent the next 25 years as a professional photoshop retoucher. He has taught Photoshop on a corporate level and his work for Disney Worldwide, Universal Studios, NBC and ABC, can be seen on television, in print, and online all over the world. During his career he has processed images by Art Wolfe, Galen Rowell, Micheal Melford and many others. He has also collaborated with several graphics companies including 3M, Adobe, and Kodak.
As a youth, Eric spent over a decade exploring the Eastern Sierra Nevada with his father and the Boy Scouts. He quickly took up mountaineering and free-climbing and spent several years climbing in Joshua Tree and Yosemite National Parks. His passion for photography and enthusiasm to teach has been said by his students to be both “infectious and endearing”. Highly proficient at Virtual Scouting and Weather Prediction, he has spent the last three years scouting and shooting all over the West Coast and has made it his personal mission to share his knowledge with others.
