Course Description:

In this series, I'm going to teach you how to understand the global positioning system, test it for accuracy and show you how easy it is to find any location anywhere at any time of day.

(NO CELLULAR SIGNAL NEEDED!)

Consisting of all the material I presented during last years 2019 Nightscape Photography Confererence but in a comfortable classroom type setting.

Pre-Scouting Using Google Earth and it’s many resources

(Pre-plan your next trip).

Setting up the app for landscape scouting.

Purpose of Geo-spatial Data acquisition. (terrain relief)

Diagnosing and testing GPS devices and Satellite signal testing.

The Keyhole Markup Language and it’s format capabilities.

Converting between GPS coordinate formats.

Using GPS apps to explore and navigate the wilderness

Aligning Gaia GPS to an actual physical compass.

Using bit depth 8/16/32 to store image data.

Understanding how the histogram displays an image.
